"I have a surprise for you," Katy told her boyfriend Paul over her iPhone. "How soon can you come home?"

"Thanks. I promise to make it up to you," Paul replied. Then he quickly added after his name was suddenly heard in the background, "Gotta go! They're calling me. See you later!"

Not knowing that the call had been disconnected, Katy asked Paul, "What time do you think you'll be home?"

Of course, there was no answer from Paul. There couldn't be. The call had in fact been disconnected.
