The intensity of the color of feet dyed with henna, will keep increasing for several days, and the color will be at its best in about 2 or 3 days when the dye has blended well with the skin. Hence it could turn from a beautiful reddish brown color to a strong blackish color by the end of the week or 10 days and from thereon start losing color gradually. The color may last for about 20 - 30 days and the nails will be beautifully colored even when the rest of the feet has lost the color. Henna has a strong smell, and once dyed, the feet will give the beautiful and pungent aroma of henna for several days. It is necessary to cultivate a taste for this smell and once you take a liking, you will find this smell very distinctive and sexy. Henna can be applied to the feet as follows, and is best done if you do it for your partner, as it is somewhat difficult for one to apply the henna oneself. Henna is a 100% natural product, and will not have any side effects except that you cannot remove the color as and when you want, unlike nail polish for example. This is because henna is a dye, and not a color.

1. Feet to be hennaed, must be thoroughly scrubbed, washed clean with soap. It is better to use a pumice stone and remove the hard skin, especially at he soles. Remove all traces of nail polish and cut back nails short, and separately clean nails with a brush etc.

2. The time for applying the henna is just before going to bed. You can then go to sleep after applying the henna and wake up early next morning and remove the henna paste. You will have beautifully colored and beautiful smelling feet overnight.

3. Get some henna leaves, and pulverize with water to form a thick and smooth paste. Alternately, you can buy good quality powdered henna in Indian or Eastern shops and is very cheap. But look for best quality. If you are unable to obtain henna locally ask a friend or business associate to get you some next time they travel to the east. middle east or India.

4. Empty the henna packet into a bowl and gradually mix in some water till the powder is well mixed into a thick and smooth paste.

5. Using thin surgical gloves on your hands to prevent coloring of hands, apply the henna paste to the whole foot, including the soles, in between and all of the toes, except the top part of the foot and the ankles. The henna should be applied evenly and about 1/2 centimeter thick.

6. Wrap and cover the feet thouroughly but loosely with polythene (cling wrap used to cover foods will be fine) or with couple of thin plastic bags wrapped and tied.. This is to ensure that the juices and color of the henna paste does not spoil your clothes and bed sheets.

7. When you wakeup in the morning, you can walk to the tap or water hose, remove the polythene first and remove the henna paste with lots of water from the water hose. Scrub feet and nails to further remove traces of the paste.

8. You will find that the feet is now thoroughly dyed and very wrinkly due to the prolonged exposure to the wet henna paste. This is normal and absolutely harmless, and the wrinkles will go off in 2 or 3 hours. Dry with an old towel and apply some oil to the feet.

9. In few hours time enjoy your feet with your partner - or rather enjoy your partners feet.
